At Maqvest Group, our role as a parent company is defined by strategic leadership and value creation. We empower our subsidiaries and clients through high-level services that drive growth, improve performance, and ensure long-term sustainability.

1. Group management

As the holding company (or parent company), Maqvest Group owns or controls a number of subsidiaries including the Makati Industries, Awethu Forestries, Maqvest Properties. Maqvest Group management oversees and coordinates the activities of these subsidiary companies. The goal of the group is to ensure that the parent company and its subsidiaries are aligned with the overall strategic objectives, operate efficiently, and comply with legal and regulatory standards. The group also manages resources, risk, performance, and strategic direction across the entire group.

2. Research, strategy, business development & performance assessments

As the parent company, we strive to provide strategic direction and oversight to the entire group. We provide the following functions to the entire group:

Vision and Strategy:

Setting the overarching vision, mission, and strategic objectives for the group. This ensures that each subsidiary operates towards common goals, which could include growth, profitability, market expansion, or innovation.

Coordinating Strategies:

Ensuring that the subsidiary companies’ strategies align with the overall goals of the parent company. This encourages synergies between subsidiaries or guide them in responding to industry trends.

Business Development (BD):

We grow, expand and establish new businesses for the entire group. We identify new business opportunities, build relationships, and create value in various areas such as revenue generation, partnerships, market expansion, and product development. We drive the growth and success of the group through new clients, markets, partnerships, and product innovations.

Setting targets and conducting performance assessment:

As the parent company, we set processes of measuring how effectively the subsidiary companies and other units/department achieves their business goals. We set the performance metrics and assessments that help ensure that strategic goals are being met, whilst identifying areas for improvement.

3. Transactional advisory services

Transactional advisory is a professional service that provides strategic guidance and support throughout the lifecycle of a business transaction—such as mergers, acquisitions, disposals, or capital raises. It involves conducting due diligence, structuring deals, assessing financial and legal risks, and optimizing terms to ensure that clients make informed decisions and achieve value-maximizing outcomes. This service is particularly valuable for navigating complex negotiations and ensuring regulatory and financial compliance.

4. Fundraising

As the holding company, Maqvest group solicits funding mainly for its subsidiary companies and also other clients. We solicit investments, or loans from various sources such as individual donors, venture capitalists, private equity firms, banks, or crowdfunding platforms for our subsidiary companies, clients and partners. Depending on the nature of the project, the target audience, and the financial goals, we employ the following mechanisms:
